Old Towns and Old Bears

About a month or so ago, I took Ted to a more local attraction in the area. It's not much, but they have some really neat shops there. Old Town is one of those places where if you want to see it come to life, you need to be there on the weekends. So naturally, I went on a Friday in the middle of the day, when the place is deserted.

And since I worked in the popcorn store there for a couple of months ago before moving onto my current job, I had to pay a visit.

Kissimmee Popcorn Company has been with Old Town since it opened to the public in the eighties, and their big claim to fame is that they make over 100 flavors of popcorn! While only a fraction of those are available in the shop itself, the sheer variety of popcorn makes for a tough decision.

(Fun fact: whenever someone makes blueberry popcorn in the factory part of the store, the whole place smells like fruit loops.)

You know, bears like blueberries. Just sayin'.

After getting our snack, we headed over to my personal favorite shop-Black Market Minerals!

They have all sorts of neat stuff, and some awesome deals to boot. I picked up a large tumbled quartz crystal and a couple of stone marbles-adventurine and red jasper. One of my favorite finds though was a rose quartz egg for only $5!

I would have loved to stop in some more shops, but the heat was starting to get bothersome, so I had to cut the visit short.

As always, Ted excels at finding a place to sit.
All in all, it was a fun afternoon away from the parks. Oh, and of course Ted got his blueberry popcorn.

Ted, come on now, save some for later.
If you get sugar in your fur, you're on your own.

Soarin' Over the Horizon!

(Sorry for the late post!)

We were extremely lucky to get fastpasses for the new Soarin' for June 18th, the day after they opened!

Even though we were only heading over there for the afternoon, we got there in plenty of time to grab a drink before heading in.

Coffeecoffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz!

Let's do this.

When we got into The Land, we discovered that the standby wait was only 35 minutes, so we quickly headed into the queue before it could change on us.

Is there anymore coffee left?
Someone's going to have to help me buckle in.

After we got out off the ride, our fastpass times had come up, so we just went right back into the fastpass lane!

I'll definitely have jet lag after this.
